PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: |
Perfect for the novice marathon runner who is registered for a fall endurance event, this 16-week guide will include a training schedule specific to the Philadelphia Marathon, weekly motivational e-mails, nutritional support, four supported long runs, meetings, clinics/workshops and more!
Although our goal event is the Philadelphia Marathon on November 22, this program is well-suited for those running within a 3-week window of our goal event - such as the NYC Marathon or the Bucks County Marathon.
Join us - tap into a combined 100+ years of running experience and conquer the City of Brotherly Love!
NOTE: Program fee does NOT include race registration. Participants must register through the official Philadelphia Marathon website. |
MEETINGS & CLINICS: |
Kick-Off Meeting - Monday, July 27 @ 7:30pm - Fleet Feet Montclair
Clinic / Meeting Dates - August 10, August 31, September 14, October 12, November 2 and November 16.*
Marathon Social Mixer! - Monday, September 28 @ 7:30pm
All clinics / meetings will be held on specified Mondays @ 7:30pm - Fleet Feet Montclair, unless otherwise noted.
*Please note that dates are tentative and are subject to change. Clinic topics, such as Training Healthy and Marathon Nutrition, will be disclosed closer to program start date.

TRAINING RUNS: |
The program will offer four supported long runs - with coach support - which will be held on the scheduled Sunday dates listed below. All runs will start at 7am from Fleet Feet Sports Montclair.

*November 15 - just one week before marathon day! Although a shorter run, we'll meet as a group for an easy run and will talk about race day jitters!
Speed Interval & Endurance Training: Tuesdays at 6:30pm at Brookdale Park August 4 thru November 17* *Note: 1/2 marathon participants will co-mingle for 12 weeks
Participants can also choose to participate in our Fall Speed Tune-Up Sessions offered: Tuesday at 5:30am - September 22, 29, October 6 & 13* *Note: we do not advise double endurance workouts; participants are asked to choose 1 workout for the 4-week overlap.
Participants are also invited to join our weekly store runs: Thursdays - 6:00pm (3 - 6 miles) Sundays - 7:00am (8 miles & up)
These weekly runs are not generally coach supported.

SUGGESTED ACTIVITY LEVEL PRIOR TO START OF PROGRAM: |
Participants should be able to comfortably run a distance of 8 miles at a pace of approximately 13 minutes per mile or less. Also, participants should be running 3-4 times per week consistently for 3 months or more. |
REGISTRATION: |
Registration is available online or in person at Fleet Feet Sports - Montclair, 603 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, NJ. The program requires a minimum of 20 participants and a maximum of 40 participants.

7/4 thru 7/15 $285
7/16 thru 7/24 $300
