PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: |
Perfect for the busy marathon trainee who is registered for a fall endurance event and is looking for support & guidance along the training journey. This 16-week support guide will include a sample training schedule for both beginner and intermediate levels, private Facebook page & weekly motivational e-mails, educational workshops, three supported long runs, a coupon booklet and more!
This program targets those who are running a Fall marathon race sometime between the end of October / early November.
Tap into coaches with a combined 100+ years of marathon experience, including repeated success at the coveted Boston Marathon!
NOTE: Program fee does NOT include race registration. |
MEETINGS & CLINICS: |
Kick-Off Meeting - Monday, July 18th @ 7:00pm - Fleet Feet Montclair
Core Strengthening Clinics (4 clinics) - Wednesdays, August 10th thru August 31st @ 5:30am - Brookdale Park Track Area (weather permitting; rain dates TBA)
Ask the Coach Roundtable Forum - Monday, August 15th @ 8pm - Fleet Feet Montclair
Educational Workshops (including nutrition, injury prevention, etc.) - Dates / Subject TBA

TRAINING RUNS: |
The program will offer three supported long runs - with coach support - which will be held on the scheduled Sunday dates listed below. All runs will start at 7am from Fleet Feet Sports Montclair.

Speed Interval & Hill Training: - Tuesdays at 6:30pm at Brookdale Park - September 6th thru October 11th (6 weeks) *Participants will learn how to effectively include this type of training into a marathon training schedule.
Participants are also invited to join our weekly store runs: - Thursdays - 6:00pm (3 - 6 miles) - Sundays - 7:00am (8 miles & up)
Note: These weekly runs are not generally coach supported.

SUGGESTED ACTIVITY LEVEL PRIOR TO START OF PROGRAM: |
To optimize marathon training experience, it is suggested that participants be able to comfortably run a distance of 8 miles at a pace of approximately 13 minutes per mile or less. Also, participants should be running 3-4 times per week consistently for 3 months or more. |
