The Scholarship Fund for Inner City Children and The Office for Evangelization of the Archdiocese of Newark.
Since 1983 SFIC has been providing partial tuition scholarships to enable low-income children living in the inner cities and urban areas of Essex, Union, Hudson and Bergen counties to attend private and parochial schools. The Office for Evangelization seeks to guide people to an understanding, knowledge and close relationship with God through various programs and offerings. |
| Why a Soles for Souls Race/Walk Family Event: |
Soles for Faith answers the call of the late Pope John Paul II for a “new evangelization,” which challenged members of the faithful to find new ways of reigniting the flame of Catholicism in those around them using tools found in the routine of everyday life |

Schedule: 8 a.m. Registration
9:30 a.m. 5K run
9:45 a.m. 3K walk
10:30 a.m. Kids’ Dashes
10:45 a.m. Awards Ceremony
Fees: 5K & Walk $17 ($15 USATF) by 9-24
$20 after 9-24, for all, and on race day
Kids’ dashes $7
Course: USATF-NJ certified on traffic-free park roads. Mile clocks. 2 water stops. Mostly flat loop course. |

Awards:5K: 1st, 2nd, 3rd overall, male & female; top 3 in 5-year age groups
Age Groups: 14 & younger to 80 and older.
Walk & Kids; Dashes: Ribbons to all finishers.
Amenities: Soles for Souls T-shirt; great food; random prizes; DJ; kids’ activities.
