| Introduction: |
Enjoy New Year’s Eve just make sure your up before noon New Years Day as your not going to want to miss the Passaic County Runners’ Club 3rd Annual Winter Series. This year’s Winter Series starts off 2012 with a mid afternoon (2pm) 5K on the 1st followed by three (3) additional 5K races in Jan/Feb. Dates are 1/1, 1/15, 1/29, & 2/12. 11am start for all but New Years Day. Series will be scored the best three (3) out of four (4) times. Overall & 10yr age groups will be awarded. Age Group Winners will be awarded on New Years Day followed by the Series & Team awards on February 12th. No duplicates. Commemorative gift (available 2/12) for those that register for the Series. Races run in 99% of all weather conditions. Road conditions & results will be posted on pcrcnj.org. Course is completely closed to traffic. Pre/Post race activities will be held in the rear of PCTI (heated entranceway) located at 40 Reinhardt Rd Wayne NJ. |

The New Years Day Run/Walk is a USATF of NJ New Balance Grand Prix 500pt event. The event will start at 2pm. Please be aware of the later start as the remaining run/walks all start at 11am. |

Be sure to bring your unused or unwanted sneakers and t-shirts to the Winter Series. Peter Englehardt will collect them from the drop box after each race and share them with the patience of Greystone State Psychiatric Hospital. | Why run the Winter Series?: |
Besides helping to fund the Passaic County Runners' Club budget (which is used to support the club's involvement in other local events and in turn various charities) you will absolutely love it, the people and the comradely that has developed over the last two seasons.
The course is moderately challenging. However its completely closed to traffic. Inside there are a number of places to stay warm and use the facilities as needed. Lets also not forget about the piping hot bagel you get after each and every race. Then theres the Series commemorative, the raffle prizes, our great sponsors and very "cool" awards!!!!
Those who have run the Winter Series always come back the following year. The Custodians of this Passaic County campus do a spectacular job keeping the roadways clear. PCTI also has their own police force which is complemented by a Passaic County Sheriff whose HQ and Training facilities are on compound or just around the corner. Talk about safety!!!.
So you want to know why to run it... just find someone who has. They'll tell you why! |
